रेत (SiO2), चूने का पत्थर (CaO), सोडियम ऑक्साइड (Na2O) और अन्य खनिज तथा धातुओं को परस्पर पिघलाकर कांच बनाया जाता है तथा इसके विभिन्न बर्तन आदि बनाये जाते है।
