इनके द्वारा पात्रों के मानसिक अन्तर्द्वन्द एवं अन्य मनोभावों को प्रकट किया जाता है।

नीर सत्ता के निरावरण तथा पात्रों की मनोभावों की मनोकामना के लिए कभी-कभी स्वागत कथन तथा गीतों की योजना भी आवश्यक समझी गई है।

अतएव यह कहा जा सकता है कि दार्शनिक, वैज्ञानिक आदि अन्य दृष्टिकोणों की तरह ऐतिहासिक दृष्टिकोण की अपनी निजी विशेषता है।

प्राकृतिक तथा मानवीय या सांस्कृतिक तथ्य का विश्लेषण विकासात्मक दृष्टिकोण से करते हैं तब मनुष्य और पृथ्वी के परिवर्तनशील संबंधों का स्पष्टीकरण हो जाता है।

यह आम तौर पर नृविज्ञान और इतिहास के दृष्टिकोण को भाषा, लोकप्रिय सांस्कृतिक परंपराओं और ऐतिहासिक अनुभवों की सांस्कृतिक व्याख्याओं को देखने के लिए जोड़ती है।

मनुष्य के जटिल मनोभावों को भाषा व्यक्त करती है; किन्तु केवल संकेत भाषा नहीं है।
