अराजकतावादी विचारक भी पूँजीवाद विरोधी और समाजवाद के समर्थक हैं परंतु वे राज्य, राजनीति और धर्म को शोषणव्यवस्था का समर्थक मानते हैं और आरंभ से ही इनका अंत कर देना चाहते हैं।

उन्होंने दार्शनिक अराजकतावादी की भाँति इस आधार पर राज्य को अस्वीकार किया-।

बाकूनिन (Bakunin) क्रांतिकारी अराजकतावादी था, पिं्रस क्रॉपोटकिन (Kropotkin 1842-1921) वैज्ञानिक अराजकतावादी तथा लिओ टाल्सटाय (Leo Tolstoy) ईसाई अराजकतावादी।

सन् 1871 के बाद जब अंतरराष्ट्रीय मजदूर संघ में फूट पड़ी तब मार्क्स के संघवादी विरोधियों को अराजकतावादी कहा गया।

हेनरी फुसेली और गिल्बर्ट इम्ले के साथ दो मनहूस मामलों, के बाद (वह एक बेटी, फैनी इम्ले था, जिनके द्वारा), वुलस्टोनक्राफ़्ट दार्शनिक विलियम गॉडविन, अराजकतावादी आंदोलन के पूर्वजों में से एक शादी कर ली।

संसार का प्रथम अराजकतावादी विचारक चीनी दार्शनिक लाओ त्से (Lao Tse) माना जाता है।

आए दिन की भाषा में आतंकवाद और अराजकतावाद पर्यायवाची शब्द हैं; परंतु वस्तुत: दार्शनिक अराजकतावादी केवल राजकीय दमन के विरुद्ध ही आतंक और क्रांतिकारी उपायों के पक्ष में हैं।

लेकिन अराजकतावादी ऐसी किसी स्थिति का इंतज़ार करने की बजाय राज्य को जल्द-से-जल्द ख़त्म करना चाहते हैं।

इसी बात उन्हे अराजकतावादी और मार्क्सवादी विचारधारा की ओर ले गयी।
