बूढ़- यह 3 कि॰मी॰ लम्बा हिमखण्ड है जो गढ़वाल व कुमाऊँ की सीमा पर नन्दा देवी के निचले ढाल पर स्थित है।

उत्तरी ध्रुव में समुद्र पर जमी बर्फ़ की परत २ से ३ मीटर तक मोटी होती है, यद्यपि इसमें बहुत परिवर्तन पाया जाता है और कभी-कभी तैरते हुए हिमखण्डों के नीचे साफ़ पानी दिख जाता है।
