. मूल शब्द 'राजपुत्र' (शाब्दिक रूप से $एक राजा का पुत्र$) पहली बार 11 वीं शताब्दी के संस्कृत शिलालेखों में शाही अधिकारियों के पदनाम के रूप में दिखाई देता है।
