L, which ran from 2001 to 2004 and collected in eight volumes.

In 1986, Kōtarō Makaritōru! received the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen.

The very first arc of Kōtarō Makaritōru introduced Kōtarō Shindō, Mayumi Watase, Teruhiko Tenkōji, and Red Rose to the series, who became the main characters.
