इनमें व्यवसायिक और मनोरंजक मत्स्य उद्योग के लिए प्रयुक्त होने वाली सबसे महत्त्वपूर्ण मछली येल्लोफिन (थुन्नुस एल्बाकारेस), बिगआई (टी. ओबेसस), ब्लूफिन (टी. थाय्न्नुस, टी. ओरिएंटलिस व टी. माकोयी), एल्बाकोर (टी. अलालुंगा) तथा स्किपजैक (कात्सूवोनस पेलामिस) हैं।

पकड़ी गई मात्रा का 60 प्रतिशत हिस्सा स्किपजैक का है, जिसके बाद येल्लोफिन (24 प्रतिशत), बिगआई (10 प्रतिशत), एल्बाकोर (5 प्रतिशत) तथा शेष हिस्सा ब्लुफ़िन का है।
