फ्ख्रा मदब्बिर ने आदाबुल हर्ब हवुजाअत में दो प्रकार की किलाबंदियों को उल्लेख किया है : एक में ऐसे किलों की चर्चा मिलती है जो भूमि के नीचे सुरंग बनाकर तैयार किए जायँ तथा सुरंग में मार्ग बना लिया जाए।

विकासशील देशों में समग्र रूप से परिवार नियोजन का 35 प्रतिशत नसबंदी द्वारा है तथा 30 प्रतिशत IUDs से, 12 प्रतिशत मौखिक गर्भनिरोधकों द्वारा, 11 प्रतिशत निरोधों द्वारा तथा 4 प्रतिशत पुरुष नसबंदियों द्वारा होता है।

बाद में बंगाल वॉलेंटियर्स ज्यादा क्रन्तिकारी विचारधारा वाली बन गयी और बंगाल में पुलिस अत्याचार के विरुद्ध ( खासकर कारावास में राजनितिक बंदियों के साथ अमानवीय व्यवहार ) 'ऑपरेशन फ्रीडम' नामक योजना बनायीं।

चित्र 2003 में शुरू हुए इराक युद्ध के दौरान संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका की सेना और सेन्ट्रल इन्टेलिजेन्स एजेन्सी के कर्मियों ने इराक़ के अबू गरीब कारागार के बंदियों के खिलाफ मानवाधिकार हनन किए।

गैर ईसाई बंदियों को "यीशु के शत्रु" घोषित कर दासों के रूप में उन्हें क्रय करने का धर्मादेश एक बार सर्वोच्च धर्मगुरु पोप ने स्वयं जारी किया था।
