प्रत्याहार बनाने की विधि तथा संस्कृत व्याकरण मे उनके बहुविध प्रयोगों को आगे दर्शाया गया है।

2. प्रत्याहार या अलगाव की स्थिति में यदि किसी व्यक्ति ने भूतकाल में अत्याधिक कठिन परिस्थिति का सामना किया हो एवं उसने उसका सामना करने के लिए अनुचित कूटनीति अपनाई हो, तब वह प्रथम अवस्था में अपनी असफलता को स्वीकार कर लेता है।

वर्णों का प्रत्याहार रूप में उपयोग : माहेश्वर सूत्र में देवनागरी वर्णों को एक विशिष्ट क्रम में सजाया गया है।
