द्वंद्वात्मक भौतिकवाद के अध्ययन में इन दोनों पद्धतियों का इस्तेमाल होना चाहिये, प्रत्येक विषय में वरीयता ( preference ) उसे देनी चाहिये, जो शिक्षार्थी को समस्या की अंतर्वस्तु ( content ) को अधिक अच्छी तरह से समझने में तथा प्राप्त ज्ञान का व्यावहारिक उपयोग करने में समर्थ बनाती है।

द्वंद्वात्मक भौतिकवाद रूस एवं चीन का राष्ट्रीय दर्शन होने के कारण सबसे अधिक प्रभावशाली दर्शन रहा है, क्योंकि सैद्धांतिक एवं व्यावहारिक, दोनों पक्षों से उसे जीवन में ग्रहण किया गया।
