दीर्घवृत्त परिधि का वह बिंदु जो रवि के निकट दीर्घ अक्ष पर स्थित है उसे रविनीच, तथा जो बिंदु दीर्घ अक्ष के दूसरी ओर है उसे सूर्योच्च कहते हैं।
