डोरकेस इसके अंग्रेजी अर्थ का उदाहरण

Smaller stations were generally built at the crossing of a main road and the railway, with a two-storey station house incorporating both living accommodation and railway facilities; the station houses generally had a columned entrance portico, or a slab fronted stone doorcase at one entrance.

The carved stone doorcase is pronounced in a way that might be more expected of an institution than a private dwelling.

Sir Alfred Brumwell Thomas, a leading architect in the High Edwardian Baroque style, designed the main school building, a dignified L-shaped red-brick building with prominent gables and a grand doorcase, it was completed in 1899.

The most striking features of the house were its "ambitious wood-carvings, massive doorcases and a famous baroque staircase", one of the first grand staircases in Ireland, with "acanthus leaves issuing from grotesque masks and rolling down the banisters" and "by far the most exuberant piece of wood carving surviving from the 17th century".

Shortly thereafter the architect James Wyatt, not yet made famous by his Pantheon, London, worked on decorations in new rooms in the house (1770–71), where doorcases and chimneypieces in Wyatt's early neoclassical style and the decoration of the Library reflect his presence.
