2005 में बनी हिन्दी फ़िल्म टैंगो चार्ली (अंग्रेजी; Tango Charlie) वर्ष २००५ की हिंदी भाषा में बनी, युद्ध आधारित फ़िल्म है जिसका लेखन एवं निर्देशन मणि शंकर ने किया है।

इसके विपरीत, उपनगरीय इलाके के पारिवारिक क्लबों (विल्ला अर्क्विज़ा/डिवोटो/एवेलैनेडा आदि) में जन्में टैंगो में लंबे सुरुचिपूर्ण कदमों पर बल दिया जाता है।

इस शैली की जटिल आकृतियों की वजह से यह शैली दौरे पर स्टेज शो में दिखने वाले टैंगो की एक नाटकीय प्रदर्शन की शैली का आधार बन गयी।

उरुग्वे और अर्जेंटीना लोक और लोकप्रिय संगीत जैसे टैंगो और गौचो आदि साझा करते हैं।

बाद में अंग्रेजी टैंगो मुख्य रूप से उच्च विकसित नृत्य प्रतियोगी के रूप में उभरा, जबकि अमेरिकी टैंगो कौशलविहीन सामाजिक नृत्य के रूप में विकसित हुआ।
