सुभाष चन्द्र बोस पूरे द्वितीय विश्वयुद्ध के समय इस युद्ध के दोनों पक्षों (अक्षदेश तथा मित्र देश) ने भारत के नागरिकों तथा सैनिकों के जनमत को अपने पक्ष में करने के लिये अधिप्रचार ९प्रोपेगैण्डा) का खूब इस्तेमाल किया।

भारत के कुछ विलुप्त प्राय जन्तु जंगली गधा, एक सींग वाला गैण्डा, तेंदुआ, नीलगिरि के लंगूर, कस्तूरी मृग, सफेद गैण्डा तथा अजगर हैं।

सन् १९४१ में इसे राज्य के वनस्पति तथा जीवों को बचाने के लिए अभयारण्य घोषित किया गया था जिसके अन्तर्गत भारतीय गैण्डा भी था और पश्चिम बंगाल में इसकी सबसे बड़ी संख्या यहीं मौजूद है।

दुष्प्रचार (प्रोपेगैण्डा), चमचातंत्र, धनबल एवं भ्रष्टाचार को बढ़ावा दिया जाता है ताकि जनता का ध्यान वंशवाद की कमियों से दूर रखा जा सके।

घास भारतीय गैण्डा, जिसे एक सींग वाला गैण्डा भी कहते हैं, विश्व का चौथा सबसे बड़ा जलचर जीव है।
