चीनी इतिहासकारों के अनुसार दुनिया में नूड्ल्ज़ का सब से प्राचीन सुराग़ चीन के चिंग हई राज्य से मिला है, जहाँ ४,००० साल पुराने कँगनी और कोदो के मिश्रित आटे के बने नूड्ल्ज़ पाए गए हैं।
