अलङ्कार हिंदी उपयोग और उदाहरण

साहित्यशास्त्र के आरम्भिक युग में 'अलङ्कार' (उपमा, रूपक, अनुप्रास आदि) ही काव्य का सर्वस्व माना जाता था जिसके अभाव में काव्य उष्णताहीन अग्नि के समान निष्प्राण और निर्जीव होता है।

वल्लभदेव अलङ्कारशास्त्र के भी ज्ञाता हैं।

""अलंकार : जो अलंकृत या विभूषित करे वही अलङ्कार है।

अन्य चार हैं- गुण, रीति या मार्ग, अलङ्कार, तथा रस।

(प्रस्तुत के माध्यम से अप्रस्तुत का अथवा अप्रस्तुत के माध्यम से प्रस्तुत का वर्णन अप्रस्तुत प्रशंसा अलंकार (अलङ्कार) कहलाता है।

इसलिए रस, ध्वनि, गुण आदि काव्यतत्वों का प्रतिपादक होने पर भी, अलंकार प्राधान्य दृष्टि के कारण ही, आलोचनाशास्त्र का नाम 'अलङ्कारशास्त्र' पड़ा और वह लोकप्रिय भी हुआ।

सामान्यतया सभी टीकाकार अलङ्कारशास्त्र और व्याकरणशास्त्र का अच्छा ज्ञान रखते हैं।
